Company President Robert Wood Johnson II wrote and published Or Forfeit Freedom, a book that expanded upon the ideas in his earlier work, Our Credo (1943), and introduced the modern concept of sustainability decades before it took root. Johnson foresaw the need for businesses to use renewable natural resources for both the health of the planet and the future of business.
